If you consider the common characteristics of entrepreneurs and then consider the skills that are already so evident in young children who enjoy the games, it's easy to see that there might be a correlation between children that enjoy playing dress up games early on and those that find success in the entrepreneurial spirit later on.

Dress Up Games and Creativity
It's not just playing the dress up games that can be an indicator of how well and how far a child might go in a business sense, it's likely almost as important how they play as if they play at all. The child that puts on a princess costume and then proceeds to act out the movie she just saw for the one hundredth time is not dazzling with her creativity. She's role-playing something she enjoys, which is wonderful, but it's not taking on a new role.

The little princessآ  who pulls on her dress and then shuns the typical story lines in favor of her own is much more daring and creative. If she's playing with friends at the time who are sticklers for the movie lines, she might even face some criticism over deviating from the standard script that the others enjoy following. Creativity is somewhat innate in children, yet it is lost very quickly in the first few years of life if it's not encouraged. Toys and games that have specific roles and lines can quickly reduce a child's creativity and problem solving skills. But dress up games can easily have the opposite effect, encouraging children to try new things and to break out of the box they are often forced into.

Dress Up Games and Risk Taking
Unless you're familiar with fashion games, you might not realize the risk-taking nature of the games. The games are intense at times and when you take dress up games out of the context of fun and adventure and make them into something bigger, such as a real outfit selected for a day at school, you're playing with fire in a sense. Dressing in your own unique creations and styles can gain you credentials as someone who really knows what she's doing or it might condemn you to criticism and ridicule if you happen to create a style that isn't immediately popular.

Taking risks in the younger years can translate to a more risk-tolerant adulthood. Being able to face a risk and tackle it with eyes wide open is absolutely essential to an entrepreneur. If that risk taking behavior starts in preschool, and it's rewarded with success and new initiatives throughout the younger years, there is every reason to believe that it will continue to be rewarded into adulthood as that child starts new businesses and looks for new solutions to new problems. Risk adverse individuals almost never move beyond roles where they take instructions as employees of others. Perhaps these individuals are the same children who refused to move beyond the prepared dress up games script all those years ago.
