I'm a Photoshop user, in the daily work, I use it as my main image editor. But sometimes, I need to extract layers from psd file, well, as you know, psd (photoshop document) is the default image format of Photoshop. Theآ .psd format stores an image with support for most imaging options available in Photoshop. These include layers with masks, color spaces, ICC profiles, transparency, text, alpha channels and spot colors, clipping paths, and duotone settings.

Photoshop's popularity means that the .psd format is widely used, and it is supported to some extent by most competing software. So most of image material that I download from Internet is .psd format (ok, some are .png format, but if you need really useful image material, only .psd format is able to meet the needs.), and I need only one layer in it, I must extract the layer and export into other image format like jpeg, but if I wanna keep the transparency I must export the layer into 32-bit png with alpha channel. Without doubt, I can do this with my Photoshop, just start Photoshop, and open the .psd file, and hide all other layers and keep my favorite layer and save as png or jpeg, but it's somewhat inefficient, I just wanna open the psd file, and locate the layer I need and export into png, that's the way I want.
